Hello there lovely reader! In today’s blog post I will be listing 10 books I really need to read before 2020 ends. Most of these books have just been on my TBR or shelves for years and it is really getting ridiculous that I haven’t read them by now… By making this blog post I hope that I will hold myself accountable and that I actually finally read these books! And then I also just have some books on this list that I really want to read soon and by putting them on this list I hope I’ll give them my reading priority.
I have been reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series for over 3 years now so it’s about time that I finish reading it. Especially since I’ve borrowed my stepsister’s box set of this series. So I’ve also been borrowing that box set for over three years now… Why am I this awful at finishing series?
I consider V.E. or Victoria Schwab to be one of my favourite authors but I still haven’t read her most popular series, the Shades of Magic series. Since I was gifted this box set for my birthday and Sabine and Yasmin are hosting a readalong for this series I really don’t have any excuses left not to read this series.
7. One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Just like Victoria Schwab, I consider Taylor Jenkins Reid to be one of my favourite authors. One True Loves is the only book by her that I haven’t read yet, so I should really just start reading it!
8. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
The Song of Achilles is one of those books that has been on my TBR for over 2 years now. I’ve heard so many great things and really think this could be a 5 star read for me, so I need to read it asap!
9. Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay
Earlier this year I read Not That Bad by Roxane Gay and that book was phenomenal, in my opinion. I just need to read more of Roxane Gay’s work and I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book!
10. Promise of Shadows by Justina Ireland
I fell in love with Justina Ireland’s writing by reading her short story Melie in A Phoenix First Must Burn and I already had A Promise of Shadows on my TBR because it just sounds like such a good book. And if you combine those two elements you get a very excited Margot who can’t wait to pick up this book!
So those were the 10 books I need to read before 2020 ends. Don’t forget to tell me a book you want to read before 2020 is over!
