I can’t believe that it’s finally almost April, because March seemed to last an entire decade. Here in Belgium we have to self isolate up until (at least) April 19. Next to that the Easter Holidays start April 6 up until April 19, so that means that I don’t have any online classes during those two weeks. Which then means that I have a lot of reading time! Nevertheless, calling my April TBR ambitious, would still be an understatement.
From March 30 until April 13 I’m participating in the Kill Your TBR Readthon, which has 8 prompts. I already uploaded my TBR for that readathon in a seperate blog post, which you can find here. I hope to still finish one of the books on that TBR in March (probably one of the shortest books) so that means that my April TBR already has 7 books on it.
Next to that there is also the Magical Readthon which takes place throughout the entirety of April. You can find all the info on that readathon if you click on the link. So I’m just going to immediatly jump to my TBR for that readathon. I picked the career Culinary Sorcerer because I love cooking and baking and it didn’t have too many prompts, oops. I only have to accomplish four prompts. Here are those prompts and the books I chose for them:
- Aritchmancy (read something outside your favourite genre): Until it Fades by K.A. Tucker. My favourite genre is fantasy without a doubt! So I’m going to read this adult romance/contemporary book for this prompt. I’ll be listening to the audiobook through Scribd.
- Charms (white cover): Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. I’ve heard so many great things about Colleen Hoover and with my loving adult romance books lately it only seems fitting to try a Colleen Hoover book. I believe this is one of her most recent books, so I’ve seen it everywhere lately. Plus it seems like one I would love! I will also be listening to this book on audio through Scribd.
- Herbology (title that starts with an M): Murdertrending by Gretchen McNeill. This book is also on my Kill Your TBR readathon so I should definitely get to it in April! I will be physically reading this one, since I own the book.
- Potions (book under 150 pages): Love Looks Pretty on You by Lang Leav. Lang Leav wrote my favourite poetry collection, Sea of Stranger, so I’ve been wanting to read some more of her work. This is a poetry and prose collection and I’m really looking forward to reading it. For some weird reason Goodreads says that this book has 224 pages, whilst my Scribd app says that it has 121 pages. I’m going to read the e-book of this via Scribd, so I’m just going to trust their page count.
My O.W.L.’s TBR seems quite doable to me. Now there is one more readathon and a readalong I want to participate in, in April.
The readathon is the 24 hour Basically Readathon hosted by Basically Britt on April 5. The goal of that readathon is to read a book or multiple books that you’ve been wanting to read for ages. I’m going to try to not plan a thing that day, so I can participate properly for once. I will sleep a bit though. My goal for that day is to read (and maybe/hopefully) finish Scythe by Neal Shusterman, which is also on my TBR for the Kill Your TBR Readathon.
The readalong I want to participate in is for the book Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez, hosted by Megan, Britt and Cerys. You can find all the info for that readalong here. I’ve been interested in this book for a while now, so when I saw the readalong I really wanted to participate. I ordered the book about a week ago so fingers crossed it will arrive soon. Although, I only plan on reading it after April 13, when the Kill Your TBR Readathon ends. Still, the liveshow for this is April 26, so I need to finish it before that day.
So that was finally it! To give a little conclusion to this: I plan on reading 12 books in April, which is definitely doable for me, since I read 11 books for March. And I’ve definetly read more than 12 books in a month before, but it is going to be a challenge to finish 7 of those 12 books in the first 13 days of the month and I don’t know how doable that is for me. But we’ll see that in my April wrap up, I guess!
