Kill Your TBR Readthon – TBR

The lovely Hadewych from Thereaderinpink blog is hosting a readathon from March 30 until April 13. Of course I will be participating in this readathon because I have quite some more free time now. In this blog post you can find my TBR for the readathon, so which books I picked for which prompts. If you want to read the rules or learn more about the readothon, you can click here to go to the announcement. I decided to only do the basic prompts, and not the extra ones, because those are already 8 prompts and I don’t know if I will be able to read 8 books in 14 days… But I can be ambitious, right?

  1. Read any hardcover you want: The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave. I picked this book because it is only 300 pages long, because if I want to read 8 books, I’ll have to pick short ones.
  2. Read any paperback you want: Snow Falling by Jane Gloriana Villanueva. Once again a very short book, I believe it’s only around 270 pages.
  3. Read a book that is popular in the book community: Scythe by Neal Shusterman. This is not really a short book, it’s just over 400 pages but I mean I got to challenge myself at least a bit. Plus this is the book that has been on my TBR the longest out of all of the books I own so it’s only fitting to read it for this readathon.
  4. Read the shortest book on your TBR: Dierenrechten by Dirk-Jan Verdonk. This book is only 178 pages long, so you’d think it’s perfect for a readathon. But, I’ve been reading this book for 5 days now and it is so slow! So I’m just going to dip in and out of it for the next week or so until I finish it, which will then (hopefully) be during this readathon.
  5. Read a sequel: The Toll by Neal Shusterman. Am I planning to read this entire trilogy for this readathon? Yes. Will I succed? Probably not, because this beast is over 620 pages long. But a girl can hope.
  6. Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover: Murdertrending by Gretchen McNeill. Once again a book I’ve owned for ages now and a book that is only a little over 300 pages. So it’s perfect for this readathon!
  7. Read a book you planned to read last year: The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker. Almost every book on this TBR could count for this prompt. But I decided to go for this book because, once again, it’s just over 300 pages and I wanted to have a different book for each prompt.
  8. Let your friends or followers choose a book: Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman. Funny story: I actually made a mistake with the poll I put on my Instagram stories. It was supposed to be a poll between The Toll and A Feast for Crows, but my stupid head put Thunderhead instead of The Toll. Anyway, Thunderhead won, so in the end it didn’t really matter. I’m actually happy Thunderhead won because A Feast for Crows is an even bigger book.

So that was it! The rest of my April TBR is also coming, but that will be somewhere next week. I have a lot more readathons and ambitious reading plans for April, so stay tuned!
